Aromatherapy Pregnancy Precautions

  • Essential oils should always be used in low dilution during pregnancy (1 to 2%).
  • The following commonly used essential oils must be avoided during pregnancy:
    • Basil
    • Cedarwood
    • Clary Sage
    • Cypress
    • Fennel
    • Jasmine
    • Juniperberry
    • Marjoram
    • Myrrh
    • Peppermint
    • Rosemary
    • Thyme
  • Lavender, Rose, Chamomile and Geranium should be avoided during your first trimester, or if you have a previous history of miscarriage.
